After eight years at La Masia, Sergi Domingos finally ushered in a new chapter in his career. This summer, he left the familiar Barcelona and joined Dinamo Zagreb. In an interview with "Daily Sports", Domingos talked about the reasons why he chose Zagreb, the process of adapting to the new environment and his prospects for the future.

Why choose Dynamo?

"I consulted Olmo, and he told me that the level of the Croatian league is improving, and if I can maintain my form, there will be no problem. This is a good platform for development."

Did you expect to become the main player so soon?

"Everything happened so fast, I didn't think about whether I would become the main player. I knew it was a good opportunity to sign for four years and have enough time to fight for a position."

Have you been to Croatia before?

"No, but the adaptation process is very smooth. The city is very good, and the people at the club are also very kind. The president told me to contact him if I need anything and let me focus on football. This is the first time I have been so far away from home, but I am very satisfied."

What is it like to leave La Masia?

"It is true that I am a little nervous, but having teammates who are Spanish makes me feel at ease. We are all newcomers and are adapting to the new environment."

How is your performance on the court?

"I am very focused on the court and give my all in every game. Frequent games make me more confident and more grateful to play regularly."

How did you decide to leave Barcelona?

"At the end of the season, I felt that it was not appropriate to stay in the B team for another year, and the competition in the first team was fierce. When I received the invitation from Dynamo, I thought it was a good opportunity. The whole process took less than a week, and I think it was the right decision."

Was there a lot of emotional fluctuations last season?

"Yes, from the preseason to the first team debut, to the relegation of the B team, there were great emotional ups and downs. I didn't expect to have such an experience."

Do you still remember the first time you trained with Flick?

"We did a physical test that day and started training in the afternoon. There were many members of Team B at the beginning, and then some people were transferred. I got along well with my teammates."

What do you think of Flick's high defensive tactics?

"It was a bit shocking at first, but after seeing the effect, everyone accepted it. This tactic was very effective in the game."

What is your most memorable moment about last season?

"Of course it was my Barcelona debut. I felt so happy and nervous at that moment that I can't express it in words."

What are your plans for the future?

"My goal is to return to Barcelona, which is my home. Of course, first of all I want to become a top defender and gain experience here."

What do you think of the future of Barcelona?

"The team is currently performing well, although there are some injury problems. I believe they will find their form soon and move on."

Have you said goodbye to Flick?

"He was on vacation and I sent him a message of thanks. I am forever grateful for the opportunity he gave me."
