Lyon officials confirmed that the club legend Laconbu died at the age of 72.

On the official social media, the Lyon Club wrote: This Tuesday night, we learned about the death of Laconbu with an extremely sad mood. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends, and we also express our condolences to all those who love Lyon and football. Goodbye, Bernard, you are our legend, and you will always be the greatest one!

Laconb has played for Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux in his career, and he has won the Ligue 1 championship three times. As a striker, Laconbu scored 255 goals in Ligue 1 and ranked second in history, second only to Onnis, who scored 299 goals. Laconb represented France in the 1978 and 1982 World Cups and helped France win the 1984 European Cup. From 1996 to 2000, he also returned to Lyon as a coach.
