Rakitic recently interviewed with CBS Sports. He said that he had longed to experience Serie A and fight alongside Ibrahimovic.
Milan has had many affair with Rakitic, but has never introduced him, and the 37-year-old veteran has ended his career as a player in July.
Asked which player he enjoyed most exchange of jerseys, Rakitic said: "A special jersey exchange is of great significance to me. I am grateful for my career, but I still have two major regrets. One is that I failed to compete in Serie A, and the other is that I failed to fight alongside Ibrahimovic."
