Waltermad joined Newcastle from Stuttgart this summer with a transfer fee for club history. Bremen chairman Klaus Philbrey said in an interview with "Marca" that he regretted letting the players go for free last year.

Walter Mad came from Bremen's youth training and transferred to Stuttgart freely after his contract expired in July 2024, and quickly grew into one of the most eye-catching attackers in the Bundesliga.
