Iguodala was born in Springfield, Illinois, USA on January 28, 1984. He was selected by the 76ers with the 9th overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft. He has played for the 76ers, Nuggets, Warriors and Heat in his career. So far in his career, Iguodala has won 4 NBA championships with the Warriors and was elected FMVP in the 2014-15 season. He was selected to the All-Rookie First Team in the 2004-05 season, was selected to the All-Star once, once on the defensive first team, and once on the defensive second team.
Iguodala has played 1,231 games in his career, scoring 13,968 points, averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game, with a three-point field goal percentage of 46.3/33/70.9%.
Subsequently, the Warriors officially announced that Iguodala's No. 9 jersey would be retired. The jersey retirement ceremony will be held after the home game against the Mavericks on February 24, 2025.
Brother Yi also became the seventh player in the history of the Warriors to have his jersey number retired by the team. Iguodala made it to the playoffs in all eight seasons he played for the Warriors, reaching the Finals in six of them, helping the Warriors win four championships. Among them, in 2015, with the Warriors trailing the Cavaliers 1-2, Iguodala entered the starting lineup and helped the team win three consecutive victories, winning the Warriors' first championship since 1975. Iguodala averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the six games of the Finals and was named the 2015 FMVP.
