According to The Athletic, Southampton is negotiating with Romeu about a visa exemption.
Romeu left Barcelona this summer and became a free agent. Southampton is interested in the 34-year-old midfielder, and the two sides are negotiating a visa exemption.
Romeu will go to England to undergo a medical examination and is expected to sign with Southampton until the end of this season. The contract also includes a one-year extension option.
Romeu played for Southampton from 2015 to 2022, playing 256 games with 8 goals and 7 assists.
