Spanish reporter: Real Madrid earned 74.6 million euros in the Club World Cup and asked for the league to be rescheduled inappropriate

Real Madrid recently criticized La Liga again through its official TV station "Real Madrid TV", because the latter rejected Real Madrid's request to postpone the first round of the new season against Osasuna, which was originally scheduled to be held on August 19.

Real Madrid said that they formally submitted an application to postpone the game on July 9, but they did not receive a reply from La Liga until July 31. The club believed that the reply was too late and could not make reasonable adjustments. Real Madrid TV described this as "lack of institutional will" and accused La Liga of the move as "contempt for common sense." Real Madrid stressed that such an arrangement "does not protect the health of players and do not guarantee the fairness of the competition." The club is concerned that its players have had too short rest time after participating in the Club World Cup, which ended on July 13.

This controversy sparked discussion in the Spanish COPE radio program "El Partidazo". Reporter Emilio Perez Drosas made sharp criticism of Real Madrid's position. He first pointed out that Real Madrid is one of the main economic beneficiaries of the Club World Cup: "I just want to remind you that Real Madrid took 74.6 million euros from this 'small World Cup'. Do you understand? And now, after they decided to participate, they asked for more rest time... This is not based on sports results, but because there is the most money there."

Perez Drosas believes that Real Madrid's complaints are "unfair and lack of coherence." He specifically mentioned that other clubs that also participated in the Club World Cup, such as champion Chelsea and runner-up Paris Saint-Germain, had their domestic league debut even earlier than Real Madrid, but none of these clubs asked for a delay in the schedule. He added: "Real Madrid played in the Club World Cup, took away a huge bonus, and asked to postpone their league game. Please, this is a bit unreasonable." He emphasized that Real Madrid lacked reasons for protesting in this matter.
