Post: Rashford has dinner with clubs such as Laporta to celebrate his joining Barcelona
According to the Post, Rashford had dinner with senior clubs such as Laporta to celebrate his joining Barcelona.
27-year-old Rashford has been seeking to leave Manchester United after ending Aston Villa's six-month loan period. On Monday, he finally got what he wanted and joined the La Liga giants Barcelona. Under the loan agreement, Barcelona can sign Rashford permanently for about £30 million next summer.
To welcome the new player, the Barcelona club held a grand dinner for him at a top restaurant in the city. The restaurant, called Amar, consumes an average of £156 per person, and a total of 18 people attended that night. It is reported that rock star Springsteen, former US President Obama and famous director Spielberg have all eaten here. The dining table serves tuna belly, prawns, crab pasta and saint paou beans, followed by wagyu beef and Galician beef, with the famous cheesecake as dessert. After the dinner, Rashford and club president Laporta took a photo with the chef and waiter, and the two looked excited about the new journey.
At the press conference to officially become a Barcelona player, Rashford expressed his joy in joining the Spanish giants. "I'm very excited, I think it's a place to realize my dreams, everything the club represents means a lot to me, and it makes me feel like home here."
"I like to make decisive moves and quick and dynamic styles, I always like good-looking football, so I've been a fan of Barcelona since I was a child. Playing here will be a treat for me and I will cherish every minute."
Rashford also said that he has had a "very positive" conversation with head coach Frick and called the latter "one of the top coaches." Despite accepting a 15% salary cut, being able to join Barcelona is obviously a chance to rebirth for him.
