He once played for Barcelona & Paris! 2017 Miss World Football &32-year-old Dutch women s football team Martens announced his retirement

32-year-old forward of the Dutch women's football team, Lek Martens, posted a post through social media to announce his retirement. She has played for many European clubs including Barcelona and Paris, and won the 2017 European Cup championship and the 2019 World Cup runner-up with the Dutch Women's Football Team. She was also elected as Miss World Football of that year.

In her farewell letter, she said: When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a professional football player, although there were not even a few professional female football players at that time.

I never imagined how far this dream could take me. I bid farewell to the national team last year, and now I have decided to retire from club football. Although there are still several good opportunities to continue my career, I chose to leave the sport I loved so much and put an end to this chapter of my career.

It is a great honor to play for outstanding European clubs and represent my country 160 times. Every game, every moment on the court, is a memory I will always cherish.

Football has given me an unforgettable experience, but more importantly, it has shaped me today.

Now, it is the right time to make this decision. My top priority is to be the best mother of my child, Lovin, and I look forward to embracing everything in the future.

None of this could have been possible without the love and support of so many people: my family, friends, teammates, the staff who guided me, and the fans who support me unconditionally. I am deeply grateful to each of you.

Football will always occupy a special place in my heart, and I will continue to proudly pay attention to the development of women's football and watch it inspire a new generation as it once inspired me.
