Can you maintain registration? World Sports: Barcelona and La Liga hearing on Garvey registration remains undetermined

Football

June 17, "World Sports" reported that the hearing between Barcelona and La Liga on Garvey's registration qualification has not yet been determined.

Gave is still registered in Barcelona's first team, thanks to the rulings made by relevant Spanish parties. This ruling has been more than two years. Currently, Barcelona needs to release their salary space to register new players, but it has not met the requirements of the 1-to-1 financial rule.

It is worth mentioning that the situation of Garvey registration is maintained through judicial measures, which is different from the situation of other players such as Ormo or Victor. According to previous reports, Garvey was able to continue to register as a first-team player because the Spanish National Court approved the club's application for temporary measures in June 2023, which ruled that Garvey should be regarded as a member of the first-team.

Initially, the hearing between Barcelona and La Liga was scheduled for July 20, 2023, but was subsequently postponed. Until now, the new hearing date has not been determined.

This judicial ruling restores the situation on January 31, 2023, when the Barcelona Commercial Court accepted a request to register Garvey as a first-team player through temporary measures, although La Liga believed it did not meet the requirements of financial fair competition. However, Barcelona's failure to file a formal lawsuit within 20 days resulted in the vacancies registration on March 13.

Barcelona appealed to the same court, but was dismissed on March 21, confirming that the lawsuit exceeded the deadline and reclassified Gavey as a youth training player. It was not until the Spanish national court supported Barcelona's new appeal that Garvey was able to temporarily retain his first-team player's identity.

Therefore, Garvey is still a first team member at the moment. If the final hearing results are favorable to Barcelona, the status quo will not change. But if the court supports La Liga position, Garvey will lose his first-team player status and the club must free up salary space to re-register him.
