As: If the Lions come back early, Barcelona will face a penalty of triple salary release

"As" published an article analyzing the injury of Ter Stegen and how Barcelona will release 80% of his salary to register other players.

The release of part of Ter Stegen's salary to successfully complete Barcelona's economic control operations has many complexities. The main problem is that Barcelona needs to convince the La Liga medical committee to determine its injury as a long-term injury (four months or more). If successful, Deco will not be able to obtain the 80% salary space reported by the outside world, and the actual release amount will be lower than this proportion. If Ter Stegen returns early, Barcelona will face severe penalties, which will undoubtedly add to the already tight salary limit.

The first and most intense link now is that Barcelona needs to make La Liga recognize Ter Stegen suffers a long-term injury (i.e. more than four months). The Telsteinian's previous statement that the truce period was three months has made people doubt this. The club now has 25 natural day to submit medical reports to La Liga to apply for long-term injury recognition. In the end, the medical committee composed of four independent experts, Fernandez Jaen, Barrow Pasos, Perez Saint-Rock and Aldevoll, who will avoid it as usual because he once served in Barcelona.

To obtain La Liga approval, the three experts must unanimously determine that the injury meets long-term standards. After receiving the documents, each expert will issue an evaluation report independently. If there are differences, negotiations will be reached. After passing the review, Barcelona's salary limit will gain breathing space, but unless the medical committee determines that the player will be injured for more than four months, it will not be able to release 80% of the rumored salary share (Terstegen's annual salary is about 12 million euros, and theoretically, it can release 9.6 million euros salary share). According to regulations, if the injury occurs during the summer window opening, the actual release amount will be deducted by 50%, which means only 4.8 million euros.

After being approved, Barcelona will use this credit limit to register for alternative players on 20 natural days, but the rules have strict restrictions. This credit limit can only be used to register goalkeepers. Players at other positions may register any non-goalkeeper players due to injuries. If you register for Joan Garcia, your qualification will continue throughout the season. Barcelona must restore the 4.8 million euros quota that it has used before July 1, 2026 before registering other players.

The outside world questioned whether Barcelona is using the rules to expand their salary space. The economic control clause clearly stipulates that if the injured player returns to participate in the competition within less than three months (originally determined to be four months) or four months (originally determined to be more than five months), the club will face a penalty of triple the release limit. If he gets 4.8 million euros, he will confiscate the registration space of 14.4 million euros. This punishment will further complicate Barcelona's already difficult economic recovery process.
