According to reports from multiple Spurs reporters, the Spurs have quietly hung the retirement flag of Hall of Fame coach Popovich with 1,390 wins over the home arena, alongside many Spurs legends. The flag was raised without any public ceremony and it is understood Popovich did not want any lavish celebrations.
After the game, Wenbanyama said: "I seemed to see a flag when I was warming up. I didn't know it was going to be raised at the time. Coach Popovich's flag really should be hung there. Maybe that's the way he wanted."
