Cuban: When selling the Mavericks, the contract guarantees that I will manage the team, but the NBA deleted it

Basketball

This week, Cuban was a guest at DLLS Mavs Podcast and talked about his selling most of the Mavericks' shares.

Cuban said that if you want to sell the team and continue to control the team's operation rights, you must still be one of the team's small bosses. For this reason, you must own at least 15% of the team's shares, while Cuban said that he still has 27% of the team's shares.

At the same time, Cuban also explained why he has not been able to participate in the team's operations anymore, which is because the NBA has intervened.

"The contract originally had a clause that guaranteed that I could participate in all meetings, all transactions and all matters, but the NBA took this one off," Cuban said on the show.

The NBA has denied that they have done this, but Cuban said: "Who do you think asked me to delete it? I have a letter from my lawyer in my hand, which is clearly written, saying that the NBA wants us to remove it."

Unfortunately, for Cuban and Mavericks fans, he eventually signed the contract - there is no provision in the contract that requires him to participate, such as trading in matters like Luca Doncic.
