Recently, The Stein Line reporter Jake Fischer wrote an article about the Spurs' potential actions in the free market.

He wrote: "The Spurs' desire to strengthen the frontcourt the day before the NBA draft has become obvious. I first reported that the Spurs had been chasing him before Boston agreed to send Porzingis to the Hawks. League sources say the Spurs are now becoming a major potential next home for big players in the free agency market."

" Sources said that rival executives expect the Spurs to pursue another center target that the Celtics' Luke Connett. Connett made less than $3 million in any season in his eight-year NBA career, and now he seems to have a chance to get a big middle class (14.1 million) contract this summer."

American Sean Deveney analyzed: "The Celtics are currently only about $5 million away from the second rich line. If you want to try to keep Cornet, you need to trade Anthony Simmons (salary of $27 million next season) or Sam Hauser (salary of $10 million next season)."
