CIES ranking of the highest annual salary deserved by players: Mbappe ranks first with 22.8 million euros, Salah ranks second

CIES Football Observatory has released its latest report, announcing the highest annual salary that 100 players around the world should receive. The statistical model takes into account factors such as game time, level of play and starting ratio over the past year, as well as a player's primary position. In this report, Mbappe tops the list with an annual salary of 22.8 million euros (only a fixed part).

It is worth noting that this figure is 40% lower than the amount he actually received. This is mainly because Real Madrid did not pay a transfer fee when signing him in the summer of 2024, and the superstar effect allows top players to earn more through their status. Salah and Bellingham ranked second and third respectively.
