Christensen: There is basically nothing wrong with my current health and I don’t usually read social media

The 29-year-old Barcelona defender Christensen is currently training with the Danish national team. During preparations for World Cup qualifiers, he gave an interview to clear up speculation surrounding his fitness.

On speculation about your condition

"Before last season, there were almost no questions about my condition. But since then, there have been a lot. Now I'm back playing, injury-free. In fact, apart from being sick, I've been healthy all season. So it's annoying, but I have to accept it. Go out there and play with your head held high, like I always do, except when I'm sick."

How do you feel about what's being said about you in the media?

"I think it would be more difficult if you are a player and follow a lot of news. But since I don't use social media and hardly read Danish news, luckily I don't see those reports."

Does this help you avoid mental exhaustion?

"So for me, it's not that difficult. But I can imagine, mentally, it must be incredibly stimulating and completely exhausting at the same time. Luckily, I don't mind staying out of it."
