Warriors executive: We still like Kumingga, but we can t spend money at will, considering the luxury tax
Recently, Spotac reporter Keith Smith interviewed several insiders of the Warriors during the Las Vegas Summer League.
Speaking of the current offseason, a Warriors executive said, "Well, it's going to be a brief conversation! (laughs) I mean, we haven't done anything yet, right? Are we the only team in the league that has no movement? We have something to do. But first of all, there are other things to be arranged. We pay great attention to the order in this regard, because we know that the luxury tax line and the hard salary cap can cause us trouble soon."
Speaking of Kuminga's restricted free agent status, a Warriors executive said, "We are trying to be responsible. Given the luxury tax line, the hard salary cap and all the relevant factors, we can't spend money at will. We still love Jonathan, but we hope to find a balance that suits him and us. But we won't hurt the team's ability to build a roster now or in the future. Strength, we have to take a responsible approach when building a team."
Speaking of Jimmy Butler, a Warriors coach said: "Bringing players like him, plus those we had to send away, could have seriously affected our season. But Jimmy has been doing well since joining us on the first day. He just wanted to play high-level basketball with a group of teammates who are pursuing excellence. This makes the adaptation process very easy. Looking forward to this year we are Can work in full all season."
Speaking of Post, a Warriors management executive said: "We are very satisfied with Post. We think he can be the starter in the league. He needs to improve on defense, but that will happen. He has the ability to shoot, pass and score in the inside. He also quickly integrated into the team and dared to compete with our long-term main players. That kind of confidence is crucial to him."
