According to ESPN famous reporter Shams Charania, Klutch Sports agent Andy Miller revealed that Mavericks assistant coach Shaun Sweeney agreed to join the coaching staff of Spurs coach Mitch Johnson to serve as deputy head coach.
Shams Charania said that Sweeney has been interviewed for multiple team head coaching positions many times in recent years, and now he has left the Mavericks and has won a higher position.
Sweeney has a close relationship with Mavericks coach Kidd. The two have worked with the Nets, the Bucks and the Mavericks.
