NBA free market, the Bucks used extended clauses to cut Lillard, whose two-year contract totaled $113 million will be shared over the next five years. Chris Haynes, a former Lillard agent, revealed that he had contacted the Bucks about a month ago to inform them that they wanted to return to their home in Portland for rehabilitation and stay with his children. Chris Haynes said: "I was told that some people in the Bucks do not agree."

Lillard suffered a deep vein thrombosis in the right calf in the middle of the 24-25 season. After recovering from the G4 in the first round, he suffered a tear of the left Achilles tendon in the season.
