Former teammate: Kobe won t bow to anyone, and he and O Neal want to be the boss will have a conflict

Former Lakers player Brian Shaw talked about O'Neal's relationship with Kobe on the podcast show Byron Scott 's Fast Break.
"I had the honor of fighting with the Orlando Magic when I was at the Pacers, and Penns and O'Neal were both top players. O'Neal must be the boss of the team, whether in the Magic or the Lakers, Penns didn't care much about these things. He was willing to give the stage to O'Neal, but he also knew to take over the game at critical moments of the game, such as when O'Neal felt bad at free throws. Kobe was completely different, he was unwilling to bow to anyone, which made him and O'Neal sometimes clash. Kobe was determined to be the core of the team, and Penns knew better how to coordinate. This difference in personality also complicated the relationship between Kobe and O'Neal." said Shaw.
O'Neal was traded to the Heat in 2004, and in 2006 he won another championship at the Heat.
