Dad Tang: Ayton is the ideal center candidate for the Lakers and is also the ideal partner for Doncic s pick-and-roll & all-in-one connection

Lakers legendary star and current radio commentator Michael Thompson (Clay's father) believes that Ayton is the ideal center candidate for the Lakers on the show.

The old Thompson said: "I think it's a good decision. He's the ideal center for the Lakers. He's Luca's ideal partner for pick-and-roll and alley relays, and can score at low posts. The thing I like about Ayton is that he's more than just a pick-and-roll center. You can pass the ball to him and let him play singles on his back. His skills are in the top 10 in the league centers. I believe he'll be more motivated to show his skills and comprehensive abilities."

Apart from Ayton, other options in the free market are not ideal, and there is no long-term solution. Signing a center that averaged double-double in a career is impressive, but Thompson, the old Thompson, hopes Ayton can stay stable in 82 games, said: "He has an All-Star talent, but he needs to continue to show that ability in 82 games. So I understand the doubts about him, but I have confidence in him. I know he will prove to everyone how strong he is."

Thompson, both Ayton, are Bahamians, so he has been following the big man's career.
